I have a bajillion adorable pictures of him that I will post later. But for those of you who are not my friends on facebook and have not seen him yet, here is a little sneak peek.

***I haven't posted until now because I have been too busy kissing and snuggling my little man :)***

December 3, 2011 started out like any other normal Saturday. Cade woke up ridiculously early to go duck hunting, and I slept in.

It was about 11:30 am and I was drying my hair, when I all of the sudden lost control of what I thought was my bladder. I had heard that when you get pregnant you lose bladder control and pee your pants sometimes, but I had been fortunate enough (until now) not to have that happen to me. I was totally disgusted with myself! But after sitting there for about ten minutes with the flow not slowing down, I realized what had actually happened. I was so shocked and didn't really believe that it was really my water breaking, so I called my mom to describe what was happening and make sure I wasn't just peeing :) After talking to her and a nurse at the hospital, I realized that this was the real deal.

Like I said before, Cade went hunting that morning, so I was all alone and freaking out! I had never been through this before, and I didn't know how long I had. I wasn't having contractions, but I had heard that when your water breaks you only have a short time left (this I came to find out, is a lie). When I FINALLY got ahold of Cade I started bawling and told him that he may want to come home because my water just broke. He was on the road within seconds and home to take me to the hospital before I knew it. I barely had time to pack up all the last minute things we needed.

When we got to the hospital we had to wait about an hour and a half before they finally got to me to check me in! It was nuts! I was checked and found out that I was still only dilated to a 3 (I was at a 3 since the previous Wednesday at my weekly appointment). They decided to start me on the Pitocin to get things going a little faster. By this time it was about 3:00 pm. I asked my nurse what time she thought I would have Luke and she said about 3:00 or 4:00 am. Ok. Whatever. Kinda sucky to have him in the middle of the night, but I'll take it. So we settled in for a long day/night. I finally started having pretty painful contractions around 6:00 pm. Thank goodness for epidurals!! I was actually completely terrified to get an epidural, but oh so grateful for it! AfterI got it, I took a nap for an hour or two until the nurse came back to check me. By this time it was around 8:30 pm and she said that I was dilating pretty quickly and that Luke would probably come around 1:00 am. About ten minutes after she told me that, she got a funny look on her face while she was looking at the monitor and checked me again. Within those ten minutes I had fully dilated and after a "practice push" she could see Luke's head. The next hour was a total blur. The room was set up, the doctor was called and I was having my baby! While I was pushing, Luke's heart rate was dropping pretty fast and so my doctor pretty much ripped Luke out of me. Again, thank goodness for epidurals. I just wish I still had it for about 3 weeks after he was born :) At 9:45 pm our gorgeous little stud was born! He was laid on my chest and immediately started peeing everywhere! Seeing him for the first time was the most powerful, emotional and incredible thing I have ever experienced.

He has been such a good boy! We have had a few rough days (like screaming and crying ALL.DAY.LONG) so far, but I have loved every single second of having him here with us. It has been the fastest 4 1/2 weeks of my life and he has already changed so much. I love my little boy with all of my heart and I'm so grateful for the love and joy he has brought to me and Cade. We are eternally thankful for his sweet little spirit and for the hope and happiness he brought to us after such a rough year.

After months and months of nothing but terrible news, Cade and I finally got some amazing news from the Oncologist the other day!
Cade had an after radiation MRI on Wednesday and we met with the Oncologist on Thursday morning. The PA started off by telling us that sometimes the radiation will just irritate the tumor and cause it to grow a little. So if it did happen to grow, not to think too much about it. At that point I was so scared. I thought that the PA had seen the MRI and was trying to prepare us for more bad news. When the Oncologist came in, he did a few simple tests on Cade and said that he was impressed with how well Cade dealt with the radiation and the after effects. When he pulled up the before and after MRI's he got right down to business. He showed us different angles and different cuts of the MRI's and said that the tumor is starting to shrink!!!!!! The doctor also showed us an image of the actual cancer cells and said that they don't look like they are very active anymore! He said that everything looks really really good and that the radiation will continue to work for the next 6 months, so Cade's next MRI should be even better.
I can't believe it! I am completely beside myself!! It has been the most horrible and challenging 6 1/2 months of our lives and I can't even begin to describe how amazing that news was to hear. I feel like we can actually start our lives again! Of course, the tumor and the cancer is still there, and we will continue to pray and hope that by some miracle it will disappear completely.
We are so grateful for all the love and support. We can absolutely feel all the prayers and thoughts and are so lucky to have such amazing people on our side. THANK YOU to all those who have prayed, sent cards, called, donated, texted and showed up at Cade's events to show your support!! We love you all so much!

Here is what we have been up to for the last few months. It's been a crazy, busy, exhausting, emotional, hard, memorable few months and I wanted to make sure I documented it (even though some days I can't work my blog. Pics won't rotate, and I can't type where I want to. That's why it's all kind of a mess).

In April I went to Germany with my parents to visit my sisters, brother-in-law, niece and nephew (thank you mom and dad!!!!). I hadn't been sick at all with my pregnancy before hand so I thought I would be ok. Wrong. I was horribly sick the entire time. While I was there, we found out that Cade would have to start radiation, so I ended coming home about a week early. It was amazing to have 2 more European countries checked off my list, and I had so much fun with my sisters, parents, niece and nephew, but there is nothing like coming home. It was excruciating being away from Cade. So here are just a few pics of the trip.

We found out while I was in Germany that Cade would have to go through 6 weeks of radiation. On the second day of his treatments, Cade's horrible headaches came back. After an emergency CT they found that the Hydrocephalus was controlled on the right side of his brain, but the left side was completely flooded with cerebral spinal fluid. So....Cade was told to go check himself onto the 3rd floor at the U of U hospital once again. He underwent his second brain surgery 2 days later. They pulled out his existing shunt and replaced it was a programmable one and also added a second shunt to the other side of his brain. He bounced back from surgery much better this time around, however, since he has been undergoing radiation, his second scar isn't healing quite right and the neuro-surgeon is a little worried. On a happy note, Cade finished radiation treatments on Friday!!!!! WOOHOO!!!!! He is beyond thrilled!!! The awesome radiation therapists even gave Cade, me and baby "Cletus the Fetus" some fun presents. They all took such good care of him during his 6 week radiation stint, and he will miss them all alot :)

I didn't take any pictures while we were in the hospital for Cade's second surgery. It was just too hard. So here are a couple "after" pictures.
The scar on the left was the one that was there before. They had to re-open it and replace the already existing shunt with a programmable one, and put in another shunt on the other side of his brain as well (the left scar).

So I figured now is a pretty good time to give an update on Cade.

We came down to the Huntsman Cancer Institute this afternoon for his routine radiation treatment. We were a little worried today because Cade woke up early this morning with the same type of horrible headache that he had in Lincoln, the type of headache that lead us to find his brain tumor in the first place. So we came to his treatment appointment thinking that he would get some sort of steroid to help. Well, after an emergency CT they found that the Hydrocephalus had really kicked itself up a notch on the side of his brain that does not have the shunt.

So now, we are once again sitting in the hospital awaiting shunt surgery on Friday. Cade has been doing really well since they admitted him and we have had lots of fun visitors to keep us busy :) We are very hopeful that this surgery will be as successful as the last one and we will be home soon.

Again, I would just like to thank everyone who has called, texted, donated, sent cards or visited!! We love you all so much and we are so humbled by all the love and support that has been shown to us!!!!

There are SO many things going on in our lives right now. We have a lot of firsts coming up, and I am so excited and nervous for all of them! (Details to come later :) ) I would love to blog about my trip to Europe I just got home from, but for now, please just head over to careforcade.blogspot.com. Cade's amazing cousin Stacie set up a blog for him to post updates on and info about upcoming fundraisers.

We are having a fundraiser on Monday May 16th at the Logan Utah Chili's. Just go eat anytime during the day and mention that you are there for Cade and 15% of your total bill will go to help out with all of the astronomical medical bills we have. I feel like if family is awesome enough so wet up these events for us, I will do all I can to get the word out.

So I decided to make my blog private because there are some people who are misinterpreting what I was trying to convey about Cade's condition. It's amazing how some people can take someone's misfortune, and use it to create a rumor. So, if you are reading this, it's because you are actually our friend and we truly appreciate you. :)

Cade has an inoperable glioma brain tumor. It is pretty big and is pressing down on his optical nerves. All the surgeons on Cade's case had a "Tumor Board" meeting and came to the conclusion that there is nothing they can do for him at this point. With the tumor being a glioma, it's hard to tell what is tumor and what is brain matter, so chemo and radiation is not an option. We are going to have a new MRI taken every 6 months to monitor the tumor and make sure it doesn't grow. If it does happen to grow, they will attempt radiation. Our next MRI is on April 25.

The Neuro Surgeon told Cade and I that we just need to live life like normal. I'm not gonna lie, it's hard to just get on with life when your husband has cancer and nobody can do anything about it. But for now we are just going to live life to it's fullest and enjoy every second we have together!!

Thanks again for all the love and support! We have been overwhelmed with all the kind words and messages and phone calls! Thank you all SO much for EVERYTHING!!! We love you all!!

We went to Cade's follow-up with the Neuro Surgeon last Friday and I came out of it not knowing what to feel.

We found out that they are not going to be able to treat the tumor. If the surgeons were to go in and try to take it out, the results would be devastating. Chemo isn't an option at this point and neither is radiation. For now we are just going to have a new MRI taken every 6 months to monitor the tumor and make sure it doesn't grow. If it does happen to start growing more rapidly than it has been, they will have no choice but to try radiation.

So there ya have it. We don't really know what to feel at this point. I'm SO grateful that he doesn't have to go through Chemo and be so sick from that, but at the same time it's so strange to me that he just has to live with this cancer and that there is nothing we can do about it. For now we are just going to get on with life and absolutely do everything we can to have fun and be happy!

Again, I just want to thank everyone for the kind thoughts and messages and prayers! We have pretty amazing people surrounding us and I'm so incredibly grateful such love and support.

So, I really didn't want to post about any of this and let the whole world into our private world during this very difficult time, but my husband, my strong, amazing, fighter of a husband was pushing me to do it as a way of letting it all out. Also, if anyone has questions about anything they can just be directed to the blog so I don't have to re-tell the story 30 times a day.

It all started on January 4th. Cade was in Utah visiting our families and was about to leave for the airport to come pick me up. He woke up that morning and couldn't speak. He was very confused and felt super sick. After throwing up violently all day and sleeping it off, we figured that he just had a bad migraine. A few weeks went by of the same thing I was officially freaked out so we finally took him to a doctor. After about a week and a half, an ER visit, an MRI a CT a visit to a Neurologist, Radiologist and Oncologist and a few phone calls from the Neuro Surgeon we found out that Cade has brain cancer. We had our appointment with the Oncologist on Thursday February 3rd, and he told us we needed to go to Omaha immediately for surgery. Of course I was beside myself. I could barely function. We didn't have any family in Nebraska and I couldn't do this alone. I made a phone call to my awesome brother-in-law Chad and he got us on a flight to Utah that day. I had about 20 minutes to get home and pack a suitcase and get to Omaha so we didn't miss our flight.

Once in Utah, we we able to be at home for a few hours before we had to rush Cade to the U of U ER at 2 in the morning on February the 4th. Monday the 7th he had brain surgery. The doctors went in and took a little piece of the tumor for a biopsy, and placed a shunt to drain all the fluid that is getting backed up in his brain. We spent 6 days in the hospital; 2 of which were spent in the NCCU (neuro critical care unit). It was a VERY depressing place. Cade was the most healthy looking patient in there by far, and he didn't look well at all. We finally found out that the tumor was a slow growing low grade Glioma. Not good, but alot better than a Primary Lymphoma which is what we though it was. Since we found out, we were sent home and will start treatment in about 3 weeks. We still aren't completely sure what it will be, but most likely it will be Chemo and Radiation. We also found out that a CT he had taken in Lincoln came back and the doctors found 2 more masses in his right lung. We don't know yet what it is, but are praying it's not cancer.

So there you go. I hope this answers the questions I have been getting all day on Facebook and my phone. I can't keep writing everyone back and explaining what's going on. It's too draining. I will post some pictures soon, and keep the blog as updated as I can. I just want to thank everyone that has been involved with helping us out at this point, and everyone for their kind offers to help. Thank you to: Our AMAZING families!!!! We could not have gotten through this if it weren't for their love and support. They are all so incredible and we owe them BIG TIME!! We love you all!! Our best friends Nic and Nicole. They have been there every step of they way. Taking us to the airport, bringing treats, sitting with me at Doctor's appointments, driving Cade places when he couldn't see and everything else you can imagine. They are amazing and we are so blessed to have friends like them. The Lincoln girls, Michelle, Torrie and Mickelle. THANK YOU for packing up our apartment. That is such a weight off my mind and I'm so grateful for your help!! Of course our team of doctors, surgeons and nurses for taking such good care of my husband and doing an amazing job with his surgery. Our visitors. It has been a very hard and lonely time. And to everyone else who has been praying for us, offered to pick up family from the airport, have family stay with them, offering dinners, giving blessings, offering a shoulder to cry on, etc. THANK YOU ALL!!

I had the opportunity to go home (to Brigham) a couple of weeks ago and spend a perfect week with my amazing family!! I love them so much and I HATE that we all live so far away from each other. My days were spent snuggling with my ADORABLE niece's and nephew's (heaven!! :)), a wedding, early Thanksgiving, early Christmas, Afton's blessing, professional pictures, dramatic haircuts, hanging with my best friends, my father-in-law's birthday, and just soaking up every last ounce of family time that I could. I missed my family the second I said good-bye. WARNING: Picture overload ahead:)

Church Softball Tournament

This is our friend's adorable little boy Carson.
(Sorry that the pictures are out of order. I should have all of the quirks worked out by the next post.)
Oh and did I mention that Cade's leg got infected the day before he started law school? Well it did. They diagnosed it as Cellutitis.
The only downside to the tourney was that Cade decided to be a hero and slid on the rocky sand that they called an infield. Well, I guess that wasn't the only downside, standing out in the more than 100˚ weather all day wasn't the best thing ever, but we had a lot of fun!
We played 4 games in row for a church softball tournament and had a great time! However, at the end of the day we were way tired and couldn't move for about a week.... seriously.

Life in Nebraska

The caravan on the way out to Lincoln. The welcome to Nebraska signs said, "the good life" so I think that is a good sign of things to come. :)

For those of you who don't know, Cade and I moved to Lincoln, Nebraska so that he could attend law school at the University of Nebraska. I got a new job out here with a Maxillofacial Surgeon, and we are loving life. I decided to start blogging again to keep in touch with friends and family. Also, I am doing this to have record of the special journey that we have just begun.

Ok, so i think i am done with the whole blogging thing. I will probably be deleting my blog here in a little while. The past month or so i've been hearing some crazy scary stories about blogs and i really don't think i want my family exposed to all of that. I also saw a very creepy movie last night and it made me realize that there are CRAZY FREAKS out there!!! I might just go private instead of deleting it but i'm not sure. 2. Real tree or Artificial? I really like fake ones...preferably pre-lit. I hate the mess of the real ones but i love the smell, so i'll just settle for a yummy Christmas Tree candle :)
3. When do you put up the tree? The day after Thanksgiving!!
4. When do you take the tree down? I wish I could leave it up till April, but it's usually after New Years.
5. Do you like eggnog? LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!! I know it's weird....but my dad taught me to mix it with a little bit of 7up so it's not so thick.
6. Favorite gift received as a child? My Playmobile dollhouse!! It is so AMAZING!!! I will have that thing forever!!
7. Hardest person to buy for? Well if my sister didn't tell me what to get him, it would be my brother-in-law Adam. He loves hunting and horses and outdoorsy stuff so it's all so expensive and stuff that i don't know about. So thank you Kasi for telling me what to get him!!!!

9. Do you have a nativity scene? No I don't. My family never had one....
10. Mail or email Christmas cards? If i did it, it would definately be mail
11. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? When i worked at the "Yog" we did white elephants and i got a really nasty old used wig!! (at least i think that's what it was!!)

This picture is of me and Cade (and my mom:) coming out of the Temple right after we were married!! Even though i was mad at the weather that day it was absolutely the BEST day of my entire life!! I waited 5 1/2 long years to marry this cute boy and am so grateful for him and for all that he does for our family. Where to start....So much has gone on in our lives since we moved! I probably won't get to it all, but i'll pick out all the fun and important stuff and talk about that! So my last "real" post was about Cade and I moving. We moved into a cute little 2 bedroom apartment that is spider free! I absolutely love it! It's alot bigger than our old apartment and the best part is....it's cheaper!! It's very warm and cozy and i feel alot safer in this neighborhood. It's actually the neighborhood my dad grew up in, and my grandpa lived about 3 houses away until he died, so i know everyone and everything about this area. Oh and it's also a duplex, so the people that live in the other part i grew up with. The guy that lives here was my backyard neighbor since the time i was 4 and he and his 2 brothers were practically the brothers i never had. And his wife grew up 2 blocks away and was in my ward. When i get the chance i'll post some pictures. Peach Days also past without a post from me so i'll chat about that! First of all i became and aunt again!! Issac Adam Terry was born 2 days before Peach Days!! He is such a DOLL!! He has the most hair i have ever seen on a newborn! He is just so sweet and tiny. Also, my sister and brother in law and other new nephew flew in from Illinois for Peach Days. My bro-in-law could only stay a few days before he had to get back to work, but Heather and "Peanut" (my sisters baby's nickname. His real name is John, named after my dad) got to stay for almost 2 weeks!!! I Absolutely LOVE my sisters!! They are my best friends and I don't know what i would do without them!! When we all get together (which is very rare as well all live in different states) we have such a BLAST!!! We are so silly and goofy when we are around each other and we laugh till we cry! Wehenever we get together we have "Girls Night" where we eat frozen pizza and Dove chocolates and watch the movie Chocolat. At the time i didn't have a camera so unfortunately i don't have any pictures of them. But i have a few on my cell phone of Issac and "peanut". For any of you who know Cade you know that he loves to kill anything that moves. So I thought i'd post a few pics of his deer hunt. He had such a blast!! I personally don't understand how it can be fun to wake up at 5 am, and sit on a 4-wheeler on the mountain in the freezing cold?? But he completely loves it and so i thought i'd post a few pics of his, his brothers, and his dads deer. Last weekend i went to Wyoming to stay with my sister for a night and help her move into her brand new house. First of all can i just say that it is adorable!! My brother in law Adam built it all himself and he did an AMAZING job!! So, i went up on Friday and was planning on coming home the next day. Well late Friday night it started to snow. (By the way, they live in Star Valley which for those of you who don't know, a valley clear clear up in the moutains. My grandpa grew up there and he says he can remeber it snowing on the 4th of July :S) Anyway, i wasn't too worried since snow up there this early is not uncommon. Oh but don't think that when i woke up in the morning it was a full on blizzard!! It snowed a total of 7 inches in less than 24 hours and i wasn't able to come home until Sunday afternoon. Can i just say that right now i hate snow and am so not ready for it!! I'm so glad i don't live in Star Valley. Yeah i know we got snow here, but it was nothing compared to up there. This past weekend Cade's mom, his sisters and I went down to Salt Lake for the weekend. We went shopping all day long and then went to "Witch a Palooza" that night. It was such a blast!! It was held at Gardners Village (my favorite place). We were served dinner and then there was a concert that was put on by all the Gardners Village Witches and the 1 Warlock. I know it probably sounds weird, but it was so so much fun!! After witch a palooza we went and bought treats and played BUNKO at our hotel. The top prize was a super cute giraffe purse and Kenzie won it. Heidi and I won the other 2 prizes which was just money. We had a blast staying up late talking and laughing and eating so much sugar and junk i thought i would burst! And last but DEFINATELY NOT LEAST.................HEIDI IS PREGNANT AGAIN!!!!!! I'm gonna be an auntie for the 16th time!!!!! Yahoo!!! Congrats Heidi and Bryan!!! I love you!!

Alright i'm back!! I have been completely horrible at blogging for about a month!! To be honest....i just haven't wanted to do it at all! But Since there has been ALOT going on in our lives and since we have alot of stuff coming up i figured i'd get back to the blogging world and share with everyone. I'm actually leaving for a "Girls Weekend" with Cade's mom and sisters in about 9 minutes so i can't do anything right now...but there is alot to come!! So i hope you all come back and visit soon!!!

1. I'm completely OCD with being CLEAN!! I really really love everything to be so clean and organized!!

2. I will NOT go anywhere if i'm not ready for the day. I just like to look my best wherever i go.

3. I absolutely hate to call doctors offices, the gas company, the cable people and whoever else like that. I just get uncomfortable talking on the phone to people i don't know.

4. I'm completely OBSESSED with school supplies!! I could spend hours on the school supply isle at walmart or at staples or office max. I love it!!

5. I have to have everything of mine smell good and clean and fresh all the time! I HATE any sort of weird smell. I constantly have candles going and i "febreeze" my couch and chair like 15 times a day!

6. Two of my favorite smells are freshly cut grass and cement after a good rain.

Out with the new....in with the Old

We are moving!! Yay!! It's very bittersweet though. We are leaving a very cute, brand new apartment for a bigger but older apartment. The reason we are leaving? Well, we don't exactly like opening our closet doors and having them fall off their hinges and hitting us in the head, or having our sink leak water and food from the disposal, or our Landlord letting himself in whenever he feels like it. But we especially don't love being giant snacks for the spiders at night. Yeah i said spiders. We have caught a couple in some sticky traps and they are huge and disgusting!! Since we have been married my leg has been chewed like crazy! The bites turn black and blue and get super swollen and our "awesome" landlord just doesn't care. We we have finally found a cute place to move to. Like i said before, it's a little dated but it like twice the size of our apartment now, and bonus, it's cheaper!! Here are some pictures of our current apartment, and i'll post pics of our new one as soon as we are settled and i make it cute!!
